Our Studio in Pennsboro
Our studio was built by Jim and the boys in 1992. The make up of
the studio was a 2100 degree furnance, a bench and lots of handmade
tools. What seemed like just a tin building, sure did bring a lot
of pleasure for dad as he could now tinker when he wanted. He was
there basically every day working with the hot glass. Experimenting
with different colors and techniques. You can bet that when we were
there, he was watchin. He liked to teach and though over time we
developed our own styles, it was his rules in the studio. One that
really stands out is "Nothing is to be wasted"

When he was working, he used every possible piece of glass
available. Starting with the clear glass, adding color, he created
his marbles. As he used up all of the glass, there was always the
last piece of glass that end up as a paperweight. All the glass was
used. Pictures here show the studio as it is today. A kiln was made
by dad shortely after the opening of the studio. Some changes have
been made of the past few years but for the most part, it is as dad
had it prior to him getting sick in 2000. For more pictures of our
studio visit our ebay store and click the studio page.
